Y&R, one of the world’s 10 largest ad agencies is known for their strategic savvy-ness and renowned creative prowess. With that in mind we interpreted this marriage of business and creativity, as a left-brain, right-brain metaphor, and used that as a template for the entire site.
Using an interactive, draggable vertical divider on the site, every facet of Y&R’s business can be viewed from the point of the rational left-brain or the emotional right brain. Famous Interactive archived this technical feat through using advanced dynamic masking techniques in Flash/Actionscript.
The site was a complex build of 5 sophisticated micro-sites bundled together. For instance, in the Brand vs. Brand section, we staged a live action green-screen shoot, complete with professional Luchador wrestlers. The wrestlers were keyed, color corrected and composited into a dynamic 3D arena. Loops were created for each move and then coded into the game...all under uno roof.
For the Office section, we leveraged the online photo-sharing platform Flickr. This allowed each of Y&R’s 180 offices to easily upload photos to the site no matter where and when. Basically, in geek speak, that's a boatload of data API in the back-end. Call if you have questions.
Y&R is a prestigious agency, both in heritage and breadth of work. By working together we're proud to say we helped escort them into the digital era. And they helped us to appreciate a good martini. "Olives never lemons".
